JEWELLERY CARE
TIPS FOR GENERAL JEWELLERY CARE
- When you are not wearing your pieces safely place each piece individually in cloth pouches, boxes or wrap in tissue to avoid scratching. Always let the chain dangle out of the bag to avoid tangle, knots & scratches.
- Dont spray perfume directly onto plated jewellery. The alcohol and acids in perfume will cause permanent damage.
- Remove your jewellery before doing any household work, manual labor, swimming, bathing or showering.
SILVER
- keep your jewelry in a logo bag, don’t put it in a metal box
- clean silver jewelry with a polishing cloth ( but don’t rub your gold-plated pieces)
- remove your gold-plated jewelry before showering, swimming
- avoid contact with creams, perfumes, and other cosmetics as they can damage the finish of the jewelry.
GOLD-PLATED JEWELLERY
Since the jewellery is not entirely solid gold it will eventually tarnish and fade over time; but proper care will maximize its lifespan.
These practical care methods will help keeping the shine of your gold plated jewellery and minimize the chances of fading out.
- Do not spray on perfume; deodorant and other similar chemicals while wearing your jewellery.
- Wait until your lotion or cream is dry or has been absorbed by your skin before putting on your ring, bracelet or necklace.
- Avoid getting your jewellery in contact with oil, nail polish, nail polish remover, chlorine and perfume.
- Sweat will cause tarnish. Remove your jewellery before exercise; heavy work and swimming.
